The Millis High School book group held its final meeting of the year this past week, and had an interesting year. Our choices included Julie Berry's "All the truth that's in me", Stephen King books, John Green's "The Fault in Our Stars", 2014 award-winner choices, reader's choice books, and the special reading of senior Sarah Morgan's book, "The Abyss".
Janet Parnes, character performer, visited the students in the Grade 5 Middle School this past week to help students prepare for the Wax Museum. In workshops, Ms. Parnes helped students learn how best to present themselves as their biographical characters. Discussions included how to develop interesting leads, answer visitors' questions, and be able to remain 'in character' for the Wax Museum.
Thank you to the dedication of the middle school book group students! Since September, these students have met on regularly at either the School or Public Library and discussed various books. Over the year, these titles have been read in the two groups:
Grades 5 & 6: Ida B. (Katherin Hannigan), Pictures of Hollis Woods (Patricia Reilly Giff), Gary Paulsen books, graphic novel choices, Travel Team or Miracle on 49th Stret (Mike Lupica), and "reader's choice" titles (from other book group members.)

On Friday, November 8th, the Millis Middle/High School hosted “Team Hoyt”. This father-son team began running marathons in 1977, with Dick Hoyt pushing his son, Rick, in a wheelchair.

Mr. Carter & Mrs. Divver, Co-Advisors
Congratulations to the hard work and dedication by our Middle School Writers group. These students proudly present our second literary magazine, The Millis Mohawk Magazine. Parents, Staff and students came to the "Showcase" on March 19th, to listen to the authors read their stories. We thank all the students who have worked so hard from November to March to create this project with Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Divver.
We hope you enjoy it!
