Registration forms for the 2017-2018 school year (all grades/programs) are expected to be available on our website on or about April 28, 2017.

The deadline to submit forms will be on or about May 16, 2017.  It will be stated on the form.

If we have registration forms for more children than we can accommodate in any program, we will have a lottery for that program on or about May 22, 2017 in the following order of priority:

1. All those already enrolled in Extended Day Programs.
2. Siblings of those already enrolled.
3. New children of Millis Public Schools staff.
4. New children of other Millis municipal employees.
5. Any other new children from the community.

The Millis Extended Day Enrichment Program is a self-supporting, non-profit, public school program, for children ages 15 months to four-years with a school-age program for students in grades kindergarten through six. The Childcare Center, for toddlers and young children, has a classroom designed for the age group.  The school-age programs each have their own classrooms and offer an enriching experience to those needing supervised care when school is not in session. The programs take place the entire school year with a separate school-age Summer Program. Millis Extended Day strives to provide your child with an environment where she or he can safely explore, discover, create and grow.

Ages 15 months - Four Years
7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Extended Day Program offers a select, quality childcare option to school district/town employees and the community (pending space availability). Children attending must be at least 15 months old by August 31 of a given school year and may attend until they are ready to begin kindergarten.  The program has its own room, specifically designed for the Center, in the Millis Extended Day Program modular building next to the Clyde F. Brown School. The Childcare Center is designed to provide either full day childcare or wrap-around care for students who also attend the Integrated Preschool or the Extended Day Pre-K/Kindergarten. Children have the option of attending varying hours during the time period of 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and a minimum commitment of two days per week is required.  The Childcare Center is in operation according to the school calendar and is closed during school vacation weeks and the summer.

7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

The Before School Program offers an open-ended time between 7:00-8:30 a.m. when children in grades kindergarten-four can be brought to school.  During this time, children may complete their homework, play board/computer games, create craft projects, socialize, or simply relax.  Students may bring their own nut-free breakfast or purchase it in the cafeteria at 8:15 a.m. for a nominal fee.

Two sessions - Time is opposite school
*preschool and **half-day kindergarten
*8:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. OR 11:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
**8:30 a.m.-12:05 p.m. OR 11:00 a.m.-2:50 p.m.

The Pre-K/Kindergarten Program, with a blend of selected educational activities and opportunities for free choice and socialization, functions as enrichment to experiences in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten.  The focus is on process-oriented, hands-on, activities that allow for exploration and discovery and enhance the skills and concepts the children are learning in school.  Students bring a nut-free snack and nut-free lunch, which they have with the group of students in the opposite session.

Grades K-4 ~ 2:50 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Grades 5-6 ~ 2:20 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
C.I.T.: Grades 5-8 ~ 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The Afterschool Program, for students in grades kindergarten through eight, offers a wide range of daily activities and special events. Students are separated into three levels consisting of Grades K & 1, 2nd & 3rd, 4th-6th (Middle School Program) with each group having a separate classroom.  A C.I.T. Program is also available for students in grades 5-8 and its goal is to develop student leaders and positive role models. Students in grades five and six are concurrently enrolled in the Middle School Program. C.I.T.s assist in the implementation of daily activities of the students in grades kindergarten through three. In all classrooms, children bring their own nut-free snack.  They are allowed time for homework in addition to participating in daily activities. Emphasis is on providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children to attend after school when home care is unavailable.
