Transportation

THE SAFEST RIDE TO SCHOOL IS ON A BIG YELLOW BUS

2018-2019 MILLIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS BUS TRANSPORTATION

The state requires school districts to provide transportation to and from school only for those students in grades K-6 who live more than 2.0 miles from school. Transportation is not mandated for any students in grades 7-12.  Millis will be using the state requirements for 2018-2019 and the fees will remain unchanged for the upcoming year.  For those students who are not eligible for free transportation, Millis provides a Fee Based Bussing Program.  The fees charged cover only a portion of the actual cost of bussing with the school district and town providing additional funds.

Determining the Distance from School

Distance is measured by the shortest traveled route from the homeowner’s driveway, via a public street, to the first door of the school attended.

Registration

Registration is due by June 4, 2018 and is on a first come, first serve basis. Once a bus is filled to capacity, this form of transportation will no longer be a viable option. Registration is not considered complete without a registration form and partial (50%) or full payment. For those interested in one-way transportation only, please note that this option will be available on a space available, first-come, first-served basis.

Payment Options / Process

If payment is made in full by June 4, 2018, a 10% discount will apply. Splitting the fee into two payments is also an option. The first payment is due June 4, 2018 and must be 50% of the total amount due. The second and final payment is due by August 3, 2018. Please Note, balance due reminders will not be mailed to individual homes.  It is your responsibility to adhere to billing deadlines.
